Dog Water Fountain Step-On Outdoor Sprinkler

My dog loves his fountain. Goes outside and drinks water anytime he wants. Took about a month to train him but he does it himself now. Its funny to watch your dog helping himself to water. They last a long time but we are on our third one now. Just gets a lot of use.

my puppy picked up on it real quick. My older Pitbull she hasn't quite gotten it down because when she drinks and where her feet stand it's not long enough for her so she waits for the puppy to step on it so she can get a drink it's funny to watch them getting a drink off it

I saw some buyers had trouble with hoses shooting off or water squirting too high, so I only turned the faucet on a trickle after hooking this up. And it works great! I have it so the water bubbles up about 1/2"...which is just fine for my dog. It took a few days, but I finally got the dog to figure out how to use the fountain for himself. I would walk him over to the fountain and point, telling him to get a drink. At first, I had to step on it for him, but eventually I would just point without stepping on it and he walked over and activated it himself (initially I had to use a piece of cardboard over the pad as the dog would not get step close enough...after a few days of stepping on the cardboard, he got the idea and when I took the cardbaorad away he stepped on the pad). He finally went for it without me around to point at it. I also opened the faucet a bit more so that the fountain bubbles up almost two inches, so the dog does not have to lick the metal. I figure that will be more sanitary. Bravo to the company for making this. It is exactly what I was looking for. I'm shocked there aren't more companies manufacturing doggie fountains, but this works great at a good price and it seems like it will last a long time (if I remember to bring it in for the winter).

It works exactly as it is advertised. Well made and reasonably priced. I thought it was pawsome! However, it became a source of conflict encouraging my Boxer's aggressive behavior. She wouldn't play with it unless someone else did and then became protective. I hope this helps others with multi dog families to make an educated decision about purchasing any toy.

Although my dogs have not mastered the idea of stepping on it to get water, they do know when Mom steps on it, there is fun to be had! LOL! I was pleasantly surprised by the strength of the materials used to make this water tool. Plan to work with my pups to learn how to get water from this source.. The only caution is if you live in a hot climate, you need to let the water run a bit before letting your dogs in the water, because the water in the hose is hot when it first comes out of the spout. I would buy this again for sure!

Dog loves but wish there was a better alternative. First off, every summer I buy one of these for my German Shepard who loves water so I'm experienced but annoyed by these. For being kind of costly, they need improvement. First off, they rust and fast. Within a week, I can see rust bubbles under the paint. In the past, I've tried to scrape it off and repaint but it never holds up. How much would aluminum or SS be? Maybe a heavy duty plastic? Second, and probably worst, is the cheap white hose that comes attached is so weak that within 4 weeks it bursts and it's a strange proprietary size I can't buy a normal replacement. I usually end up using hose clamps and replacement hose to make it work but not good solution. 3rd is a feature which would add cost but increase safety. This unit needs an anti-scald valve. In PHX, the water in the hose gets maybe 140 + degrees in minutes and can easily hurt your poor dog. The valve runs$10 retail and could divert the water to the ground until the temp cools down. In quantity, I'm sure you can get it for much less and increase the cost of this unit. I would add my own but your strange size of hose connection makes it impossible to add. Finally, in an ideal world, it could have a setting to allow water to flow for a few seconds every time the dog hits the paddle. My dog likes to snap at the water while in flight so she slaps the paddle over and over again. If one press would let the water stay on a few seconds I think she'd love it more. Don't know if the manufacturer in China will ever read this or care one bit but maybe a competitor will and design the perfect water paddle!

Our dog loves it. It took 3 different times using it before she got it (she is not the brightest dog, but loves water). Now she gets so excited every time we pull it out. We even pulled it out once when she was constipated and wasn't drinking water, it saved us a vet trip. Our little dog is not strong enough to make it work so our big one presses on it for her.
