I have gotten a couple of different types of these for my personal dogs but for whatever reason, they aren’t the “favorite” for my Great Pyrenees dog and my Dachshund. The Great Pyrenees is not an aggressive chewer but she has size on her side (slightly over a 100 pounds) so she can usually tear up any type of chew in no time but she hasn’t chewed these up. My Dachshund is more aggressive but she hasn’t gone through these either so I guess that says something.
I will say that oftentimes we have a foster dog at my house (always a Great Pyrenees that is a rescue with the National Great Pyrenees Rescue) and the foster dogs seem to like these more than my own dogs do. I usually send these with them to their forever homes because they are long-lasting.

our baby boy loved Wishbone and it is one of the few toys he hasn't been able to break (Labs are strong chewers). They are durable, they last, they are easy for our boy to hold with his paws while chewing. Best part is when he has this in his mouth, this means he is not chewing on one of his big sister's dollies (His sister is human). The reason I gave it 4 stars is because it does start to splinter so you need to make sure you dog doesn't get hurt.

Our 33 lb dog is a heavy chewer. He destroys toys. He destroys shoes and clothing if given the chance. He loves himalayan yak chews, split elk antlers (he's only lukewarm about the unsplit ones), and dental chews, but he goes through them too fast. He even cleans out a stuffed or filled Kong in record time.
Nylabones last a lot longer, but it takes a while for him to warm up to them, and I think it's for three reasons: He doesn't love the flavors (any of them), he doesn't like the smooth texture, and he doesn't love the shape. He pretty much ignores new nylabones until he's bored of everything else. Once he's broken them in and given them texture, he likes them more... but he never loves them.
The Benebone Wishbone solves all of those problems. He obviously loves the flavor, he doesn't mind the texture, and the shape is great for gripping.
We have one issue with it, hence the 4 stars: It stinks. Not all the time and not from a distance, but when he's been chewing on it for a while and if you're close enough.... it's not pleasant. But we put up with it because he loves it.

Good chew toy for any dog. Our APBT mix had this for weeks, which is exponentially longer than chew toys usually last for him. He loved the flavoring and was instantly drawn to the bacon smell. Early on, the chewing produces small nylon bristles that are a little sharp. We read several reviews saying this was dangerous but our dog did not suffer any serious affects from it. There was a tiny amount of blood in his mouth from the sharp bristles but when we asked our vet about it she said that was normal since his gums were likely soft due to lack exposure to rougher chew toys, and she assured this was not a serious issue at all; the bleeding lasted minutes and never occurred again. After some time when the bone got thinner our dog was able to sheer some larger pieces from the bone and this is when we removed it to avoid choking hazards or possible intestinal obstruction, so as with any toys your dog should be monitored while they use this bone. Overall this is one of the best chew toys we have gotten for our dog, in the sense that it lasted much longer than most chew toys last for him and he loved it and would carry it around our apartment, but the sheering of larger pieces wasn't exactly desirable.
Tough Nut
I have a pit mix and a wiener mix (30lbs) both avid chewers. They LOVE antlers but ordering a new batch every month was starting to pinch the wallet so I tried this thing.
As it turns out, my dogs are enjoying it. Only down side, the chewed up plastic (or whatever it is) gets pretty sharp and will catch on blankets and doesn't feel so good on the skin.
Not sure about the health effects of swelling small bits of plastic, but it hasn't seemed to effect bowel movements. With rope toys, I've pulled one too many strings out of the backside and with a soft antler you end up with white poops other dogs want to eat. All in all, I'm happy with this product.

I gave one of these to my new puppy, then realized I needed to get the puppy version. I am saving these for later and using the puppy version which seems to be a little more pliable, at least compared to this adult version. Both my dogs are small dogs, and the puppy likes the wishbone style and the older dog has taken over the other style. They both chew on these a little every day. These are the only product of this type my dogs have ever shown any interest. I got the bacon variety. I was so pleased that my dogs showed some interest that I purchased a large one as a gift for a friend whose has an agressive chewer.

I bought this bone for my thirty pound mutt when she was about 9 months old. She absolutely loves it and it it's her most preferred toy/bone that she has had. She has chewed it down considerably after about two years and I finally bought her another one in chicken flavor. I left it on the window sill because I didn't want to give it to her yet but she keeps getting it down and putting it on her bed.
I have never found little pieces of this bone laying around the house so I guess she must be swallowing them. I'm not sure if I should be concerned about this since the product says it's not for consumption. I would feel much better knowing that it is made of materials that are healthy for her but it will do for now.
Some people are concerned about how jagged this bone becomes, this has never been an issue in my mind. I think it helps clean her teeth and give healthy gums, though quite a bit of lint does get caught on it.
Also, the shape is great for her to hold it well while she chews

We have a 1 year old English Bulldog and he chews on everything ! I tried the bully sticks and he ate right through them like they were potato chips. I also gave him Yak chews, which are also pretty good but these Wishbone's not only last for months and months but the fact that we bought him the bacon and chicken flavors give him something to choose between when he is bored with the first one. He will knaw/chew on these bones for hours and hours at a time and it keeps him occupied. He gets so into these bones that he is in his own little world as we watch and hear him going to town on them. He has not chewed on shoes, chairs, base-molding or anything else for that matter. Finally !!! We found the ultimate bone to stop his need to chew [ on other things ] and he really enjoys them !

My 12lb. Havanese has always liked the regular sized Wishbones, but, at times, seemed unhappy with their size. The Wishbones tiny 2 pack now offered in the bacon flavor has become his favorite chew toy. Just the right size for him to get on with a rewarding chew, but still the same great taste he likes in these Wishbones chews. Hope the company comes out with a tiny 2 pack in the chicken flavor. That would be great as he also likes that flavor in the larger Wishbones chews, too.

The best way to describe Wishbone Jumbo Chew is to think about all the toys and bones you have purchased for your dog. Many of these toys aren't touched each day, let alone for over a week. Your dog gets bored. However, with the Wishbone Jumbo Chew, your dog will be chewing on this bone not only each day but numerous times each day. My Golden Retriever is 9 months, weighs between 65 and 70lbs and has been chewing on this for the last 2 1/2 weeks. I hope that the Wishbone Company comes out with new flavors in Jumbo or Mega Jumbo (new bigger size..hint, hint) so that all dogs can enjoy this wonderful treat in more flavors. I'm attaching a front and back picture of the Wishbone Jumbo Chew as it looks today...and the first day my Golden Retriever received the Wishbone Jumbo Chew.

What on earth do you do with young pups who have tons of energy, sharp teeth, and powerful jaws? You exercise them, of course! And then you give them Wishbones. Wow. These are a huge hit in my home.
Several times during the last 20 years I'd purchased Nylabones (similar concept), but none of my dogs had shown any interest. It was disappointing because I needed a heavy-duty chew toy for my pets to enjoy while inside the house; I can only guess they lacked enough flavor.
Wishbones(one peanut butter, one bacon) are a welcome addition. My dogs detected something exciting in the Amazon box, and when I revealed the goodies inside, ALL the pups were interested. They're still chewing away and swapping flavors. I'm equally delighted!
It's important to remember that powerful chewers (especially young pups with sharp teeth) can destroy just about anything. Let's face it; they're born with jaws capable of chewing through animal hide and bone. Chew toys are no exception. My dogs (mixes of Shepherd, Retriever, and Doberman) are fiercely and happily chomping on their Wishbones and making a dent in them. As the toy gets wet, it softens on the surface. Teeth marks are evident, and the smooth surface of the toy becomes jagged, BUT the dogs are not destroying it. It's the most significant difference for me; the surface changes, but not the integrity of the entire toy. You can see where it is minimally breaking down, but overall they are lasting. The toy is solid when dry, and the roughened surface scrubs the dog's teeth. Then, as the dog continues to chew, the toy softens a little. I cannot detect any odors and I don't see stains on my rugs or furniture. Thankfully, my dogs haven't experienced any obvious GI upset, which can happen with natural chews like horns and rawhide. The photo shows both bones after a week of daily assault, and they're still holding up. Even if they only last for another week, they're still a far better value than the chew toys that get destroyed within 10 minutes. However, it appears the Wishbones will endure many more weeks (if not months) of enjoyment, and this makes them an absolute winner for my brood.

I have three dogs who all love these Wishbones (Lab, Golden Retriever, and Amstaf). They have Different flavors of these bones and my dogs love all of the flavors. The dentist has remarked about how clean their teeth are, which I think is in great part due to these Wishbones. They have laundry basket full of toys and since these Wishbones are heavier than most of their other toys, they usually settle toward the bottom of the basket. It is so funny to watch them digging through the other toys to get to their Wishbones . Over several months, one knob on one of the Wishbones was chewed down (little shreads at the time, not a harmful chunk), which meant I bought another round of Wishbones for all of them. One of my dogs had to have surgery because she swallowed a chunk of a Kong toy, but even though she is a strong chewer (Bully breed) and can demolish most toys in 15 minutes or less, these Wishbones last months before they need to be replaced. I watch their toys to make sure nothing starts coming apart that could necessitate another trip to doggie ER ($6,000 bill and 5 days in hospital). The price of the Wishbones may seem a little high, but if you can avoid trip to doggie hospital for intestinal blockage and all the pain your dog would suffer, they are a good investment. It is cute to see each of three dogs grab one knob on a Wishbones and pull in three different directions. If I could give 10 stars, I would. Great design and material for all dogs, but especially for Bully types.
Update: I am back online buying another set of Wishbones . My dogs and I continue to prefer these chew toys over all others. I waited too long to reorder and currently only have one I allow them to chew. With 3 dogs chewing on a Wishbones 8-10 hours a day, I am extremely impressed that they have lasted, on average, about 4 months. Two will lay there watching for whichever one has possession of the Wishbones to turn her head or go for a drink of water so one of the sisters can steal it and get a turn chewing. Two of them "talk" and will tell me that her sister stole her toy. My solution is to take it away from all of them for a while. Problem will be solved in two days when new shipment of Wishbones arrive and each of my girls will have her own Wishbones . I need to be a better Mom and make sure I keep a supply of new replacement Wishbones on hand since all 3 are despondent when they do not have their favorite Wishbones . I continue to highly recommend Wishbones chew toys.

Personally, I don't love it - but my dog does. God knows why, because it sure as hell does not taste like bacon.

We have 4 or 5 in the house right now because it's the only toy he does not immediately destroy. It's a very hard plastic, so great for strong chewers. As it gets worn, the edges get really rough so definitely keep an eye on your dog and make sure they're not hurting themselves. The wishbone shape is cute, but it's also pretty easy for my dog to hold between his paws when he goes to town on it. He closes his eyes and gnaws on it so passionately that I get a little jealous because I don't think I have ever enjoyed chewing something as much as my dog enjoys chewing this (and let's be real, we have WAY better stuff to chew than they do.)

I have a maltese dog, 8 mths old. She loves it so much! She started chewing away, and she got so quiet. However, she preferred the wishbone shape over the other shape that looks like a handle. She only chews on the wishbone shape for some reason. It doesn’t smell of bacon, so no worries of having a bacon smelling dog mouth! It lasts long, as it is rock hard, but it can get a bit of marks on the bone after a while. It is smooth, and the wishbone shape is a good grip shape! As a former vet tech, rescuer and pup momma I've come across some chewers that take the cake. Of course, one of my own is the worse of the worst. My monster lab/poodle mix can DESTROY just about anything I buy for him . He snaps the ultra kongs in half without blinking and will crack even the largest bones within a few minutes. Even toys marketed as indestructible with money back warranties fall to their death in his jaws. That said .... HE LOVES THIS BONE and hasn't managed to do much damage to it which makes it one of the best chew toys I've ever encountered.
