It took us about an hour and a half to build, which was not difficult due to how well the instructions are and because all parts and hardware are numbered. This made all the difference in the world. They even included a small screwdriver, (but it’ll tire your hand pretty quickly). It looks great, and fit in the room. perfectly. The two shelves are a nice feature. I liked this desk quite a bit more than I thought I would. It was a bit of job to put it together, but that's because I always work alone. With someone to help by holding a part, it would have been a quicker job. I ended up painting mine an oasis blue using a spray can, and that color really popped with the dark would desk top pieces which looks really good (I know it's not real wood, but who cares). For the price, it's a good solid desk and I'm thinking about getting a second one. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this desk for one second. When constructing the desk, remember it pays to not always tighten all the way, until all the pieces are aligned (almost like how you tighten lug nuts on a wheel, you slowly tighten all nuts in a rotation so the wheel progressively gets tight in steps). You'll figure it out. I have no complaints about a 115$ desk that looks good spray painted oasis blue.
